Be human and write a unique offer, letting the person know that you paid attention to his posting and actually are interested in his project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It doesn\u2019t mean that you have to write absolutely new and super-personal offer (however if you do so, you\u2019re a good boy\/girl). There are some parts, like portfolio\/references, that you can easily copy and get rid of wasting time preparing them each time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Secondly,&nbsp;<\/strong>after the first touch \u2013 the best is to go on call and talk in person, this way you can easier determine the type of client, their feelings &amp; emotions and expertise about your service. If talks isn\u2019t just yours or client prefers to have a chat, that\u2019s okay. Just let him know that you\u2019re interested in his project and don\u2019t go with \u201cI can do \/ for\u201d, but tell them that you\u2019re willing to help \/ scale their business in ____ and ____ \/ or.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>We live in the world, where people see and in some kind of \u201cblock\u201d the advertisements, offers and got bored of all this type of shit, remember it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t be excited, when the client says let\u2019s begin! (Even if his reviews are 5-star), discuss the terms and timelines. Even if it sometimes can make you feel worried that you\u2019ll lose the client or you\u2019ve been hunting for offers for so long, that you\u2019re ok to work almost free of charge \u2013 remember, the terms and timelines are&nbsp;<strong>important<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What to do if you\u2019ve been working and feeling good for a really long period of time, and now you\u2019re lacking the projects?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Up-sales #1 for living the freelance\/agency services lifecycle. One happy client is better than 10 newcomers, build strong relationships and you\u2019re all set for years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build social-audience\/brand. I\u2019ve never took it seriously before, before the Bank representative called me on phone and asked if I could re-design their app. Making relevant audience at professional networks and social media can bring great new and probably free-of-charge leads, who are already interested in working with you<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grow your skills \u2013 you have free time? Believe me or not, this will allow you to scale both personally and professionally, and most-likely once you start, there will be a client almost immediately (the more you\u2019re busy \u2013 the more you\u2019re wanted)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How about review of your achievements &amp; rates? Maybe it\u2019s time to go beyond?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Let\u2019s jump a bit into Up-sales and client relations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Remember<\/strong>: This is not just a one-time work, official relations \/ nothing personal. Building a great long-term relationships involve a lot of personal talking, discussion and other off-work topics discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you build such relationships you get lot\u2019s of benefits<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A friend in industry, that you\u2019re working in<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Both personal\/professional growth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support and trust with each other<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Easy up-sales (even if client didn\u2019t want anything, you can think of something and suggest him &amp; make contract)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instead of hunting for crumbs, you\u2019re being a part of something BIGGER<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>How to do correct up-sales?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Never<\/strong>&nbsp;start a conversation with offer. This is like when you walk on the street and there\u2019s a pester asking \/ offering something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, ask about himself\/family, how the business is going on, show emotional support. Especially it is nice, to congratulate with holidays (even if you\u2019re not doing up-sales). Be nice and honest. This is long-term relationships, not a work-invoice-bye style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Always provide a bonus, that will take you just a little bit of time, but make the client happy. If you\u2019ve discussed a page design \u2013 you can add some states design or provide assets.
